What is horoscope?

The actual word ‘horoscope’ is derived from a Latin combination of two words in which ‘horo’ means hour and ‘scope’ means scene, hence it is ‘hour view’.

One definition of ‘horoscope’ is that it is the delimitation of special celestial energies based on heavenly patterns, such as you see in magazines or newspapers.

As astrologers we refer to a horoscope in the form of an astrological chart of a person or time, which is calculated from planetary positions to either the sidereal or tropical zodiac. The calculation used is based on the date, place and time of birth. This is why a horoscope is personal like a fingerprint.

When an astrologer works with an accurate time chart, the energies within him are unique to that person. Let it be known that the energies of charts and planets serve as the capacity for personal expression within that person.

The horoscope holds planets, signs, aspects, houses, and other points within it that reflect possible features and patterns. It is our free will that allows us to work with these patterns or express them in other ways.

NASA pointed this out on Tumblr and on an educational page for kids. But don’t blame it for changing your sign. Astrology isn’t science, so read whichever horoscope you want. The stars won’t mind.
