Doha 1

तूँ तूँ करता तूँ भया, मुझ मैं रही न हूँ।

वारी फेरी बलि गई, जित देखौं तित तूँ ॥

When I started Chanting Tu Tu ( Hey God Hey God) , I came near to you more and more. More Enough that my Ego is finished.

 

Now I am completely dedicated to You God, so dedicated that where ever I see around me, I see You.

Doha 2

मेरा मुझ में कुछ नहीं, जो कुछ है सो तेरा।

तेरा तुझकौं सौंपता, क्या लागै है मेरा॥

I have nothing that belongs to me. Everything I posses is your’s God.

 

I dedicate every thing that is rightfully yours to you only. This way there is nothing I loose.

Doha 3

पोथी पढ़ि-पढ़ि जग मुवा, पंडित भया न कोइ।

एकै आखर प्रेम का, पढ़ै सो पंडित होइ

Everyone in this materialistic world keeps on reading books , but they are still not knowledgable.

 

Though reading just one word of true love is enough to get all that knowledge that gets you near to the God. 

Doha 4

कबीर माया पापणीं, हरि सूँ करे हराम।

मुखि कड़ियाली कुमति की, कहण न देई राम॥

Kabir Says , this Illusion is Sinful. ( In modern context all the bad doing of this world trigger you to do sin). This illusion will take you away from God.

 

The face / month gets under control of this sin and it never allows you to take Name of lord Rama

Doha 5

जिस मरनै थै जग डरै, सो मेरे आनंद।

कब मरिहूँ कब देखिहूँ, पूरन परमानंद॥

Death is something that this world is scared of but I enjoy it.

 

Because I know that whenever I will die , I will see the ultimate God.

Doha 6

बेटा जाए क्या हुआ, कहा बजावै थाल।

आवन जावन ह्वै रहा, ज्यौं कीड़ी का नाल॥

Why is that when Son is Born , People in this world celebrate by beating utensils ( making sounds of fun)

 

This is life and people come and go just like insects in sewage

Doha 7

काबा फिर कासी भया, राम भया रहीम।

मोट चून मैदा भया, बैठ कबीर जीम॥

Kabir Ji emphasis on All 1 God as Kaba ( Holy Place for Muslims ) and Kashi ( Holy Place for Hindus ) has become. And Lord Rama and Lord Raheem becomes One.

 

Big heavy things like wheat became small and compacted in the life like Maida (Refinded Flour) that Sant Kabir is Eating / Living.

Doha 8

साँच बराबरि तप नहीं, झूठ बराबर पाप।

जाके हिरदै साँच है ताकै हृदय आप॥

There is nothing as close to worshipping God as Truth is . And there is nothing as close to sin as Lie is.

 

Hey God , you live in heart of those filled with Truthfulness.

Doha 9

सुखिया सब संसार है, खाए अरु सोवै।

दुखिया दास कबीर है, जागै अरु रोवै॥

This World is happy as they are busy in Doing things of daily routine. They sleep over it unaware of the things which are right or wrong

 

The Slave of God Kabir is crying and is not happy inspite of being aware of the right thing but being surrounded by this world.

Doha 10

हम भी पांहन पूजते, होते रन के रोझ।

सतगुरु की कृपा भई, डार्या सिर पैं बोझ॥

Kabir ji says that he would have been worshipping Rocks and would be like Neel Cow in a battle field.

By the blessing of Almighty , He is not under burden to follow superstitions.

Doha 11

मन के हारे हार हैं, मन के जीते जीति।

कहै कबीर हरि पाइए, मन ही की परतीति॥

You are beaten only if your Inner self is beaten. And you can win only if you think you are a winner

 

Says Sant Kabir ,  You can only get God through your inner self.

Doha 12

साँई मेरा बाँणियाँ, सहजि करै व्यौपार।

बिन डाँडी बिन पालड़ै, तोलै सब संसार॥

My God is like a Baniya ( one famous for doing great business. God does business with ease.

 

Without any weighing scale , he measures and scales every one in this world.

Doha 13

प्रेमी ढूँढ़त मैं फिरूँ, प्रेमी मिलै न कोइ।

प्रेमी कूँ प्रेमी मिलै तब, सब विष अमृत होइ॥

Kabir ji says that I am in search of the Lover of God but am not able to find one.

 

If One God lover finds another God Lover , then this all poison of sin will turn into Antidote

Doha 14

सब जग सूता नींद भरि, संत न आवै नींद।

काल खड़ा सिर ऊपरै, ज्यौं तौरणि आया बींद॥

Everyone Is Sleeping but Saints are Awake.

 

Death is on head and will take this bride like life to her correct place.

Doha 15

जब मैं था तब हरि नहीं, अब हरि हैं मैं नाँहिं।

सब अँधियारा मिटि गया, जब दीपक देख्या माँहि॥

Till the time I was egoist and thinking of myself , I was not able to find God. I am nothing in front of God.

 

All darkness in my life is gone when I am enlightened by the presence of God.

Doha 16

जौं रोऊँ तौ बल घटै, हँसौं तौ राम रिसाइ।

मनहीं माँहि बिसूरणां, ज्यूँ धुँण काठहिं खाइ॥

Doha 17 to 26 BONUS

“Dukh me sumiran sab kare, sukh me kare na koi. Jo sukh me sumiran kare, toh dukh kahe ko hoi.”

(Everyone remembers God in times of sorrow, but none in happiness. Those who remember God in happiness, do not experience sorrow.)

“Kabira khada bazaar mein, mangle sabki khair. Na kahu se dosti, na kahu se bair.” 

(Kabir stands in the market, wishing well for everyone. He has no friends or enemies.)

“Jaise til mein tel hai, jyon chakmak mein aag. Tera saai tujh mein hai, jal sake to jal.” 

(Just as oil is within the sesame seed, and fire is within the flint stone. Your Sai is within you, let it burn if it can.)

“Kaal kare so aaj kar, aaj kare so ab. Pal me parlay hoyegi, bahuri karega kab.” 

(What can be done tomorrow, do it today. What can be done today, do it now. Time does not wait, it will slip away.)

“Guru govind dono khade, kake lagu paaye. Balihari guru aapne, govind diyo bataye.” 

(Guru and God both stand before me, to whom should I bow down? I give my respect to my Guru, who showed me the path to God.)

“Dheere dheere re mana, dheere sab kuch hoye. Mali seenche sau ghada, ritu aaye phal hoye.” 

(Slowly, slowly, everything happens in its own time. The gardener may water the plants a hundred times, but the fruit will only come in due season.)

“Bin guru andhiyara, kaise mile chalna soye. Guru bin koi na paye, satsang na hoye.” 

(Without a Guru, one is lost in darkness and cannot find the way. Without a Guru, one cannot find the path of true knowledge.)

“Kasturi kundal base, mrig dhundhe ban maahi. Aise ghati ghati Ram hai, duniya dekhe naahi.” 

(The musk deer searches for the fragrance, unaware that it is within itself. Likewise, the Divine exists within every heart, yet people search for it outside.)

“Kabira khara bazaar mein, maange subki khair. Na kahu se dosti, na kahu se bair.” 

(Kabir stands in the market, wishing well for everyone. He has no friends or enemies.)

“Jab main tha tab Hari nahi, ab Hari hai main nahi. Sab Andhiyara Mit gaya, Darshan pyasi akhiyan ki.” 

(When I was there, God was not. Now that God is there, I am not. All darkness has vanished, and my eyes thirst for the sight of God.)

Doha 27 to 36 BONUS

“Moko kahan dhoondhe re bande, mai toh tere paas me. Na teerath mein, na moorat mein, na ekant niwas mein. Na mandir mein, na masjid mein, na kabe kailas mein. Me toh tere paas mein bande, ab toh tere paas me.” 

(O man, why do you search for me outside? I am within you. Neither in pilgrimage, nor in idols, nor in solitude. Not in temples, nor in mosques, nor in holy shrines. I am within you, now come closer to me.)

“Kabir ke dohe sachhe, jhoote jag ka dhanwaa. Jhootha bana jag sara, sachcha bana rahe apna.” 

(The words of Kabir are true, the world’s wealth is false. The whole world is false, only the truth can be our own.)

“Bura jo dekhan main chala, bura na milya koi. Jo dil khoja aapna, mujhse bura na koi.” 

(As I went out to see the world, I found only evil. But when I searched within my heart, there was none worse than me.)

“Pothi padh padh jag muva, pandit bhaya na koye. Dhai akshar prem ke, padhe so pandit hoye.” 

(Reading many books, the world became foolish, no one became wise. Those who read the two and a half letters of love, become the wisest of all.)

“Kabira so dhan sanchiye, jo aage ko hoye. Sees charaye teen lok, sukh sampati soy.” 

(Kabir says that true wealth is what we take forward with us. With our head held high, we will enjoy happiness and prosperity in all three worlds.)

“Sukh dukh dono sam kar, jaye na jeevan mein re. Ek toh mann samayi, phirai vishay vikaar mein re.” 

(Equating happiness and sorrow, one can remain steady in life. But when the mind is swayed by external things, it gets lost in the ups and downs.)

“Jhini jhini bini chadariya, kahe ka tana, kahe bichuaa. Das Kabir bade jor se, jatan se nikale pohch.”

 (The fine white cloth, why use the warp or weft? Kabir says, with great effort, the weaver has finally woven the cloth.)

“Man changa toh kathauti mein ganga. Nadi na bhediya, paar lagaye kanga.” 

(If your mind is pure, the river Ganges is in your hands. Without a boat or a raft, you can cross the river.)

“Guru ko nahi pahichan, toh jag mein doob jaaye. Satguru ko pahichan liya, toh ban gaye narak se mukt.” 

(If you do not recognize the Guru, you will and it will take you away from Narak)
